We have received a visit from Rob & Pauline Williams from Kenya. They are our direct link with the projects over ther. They joined us for a coffee morning and reported that the cost of building the classroom for children with learning difficulties has been reduced, thanks to the generosity of the builder doing the work at cost. This indeed is good news.

Enough money was raised to purchase one more toilet through Toilet Twinning.

During Fairtrade Fortnight the Co-op will be hosting a Coffee Morning for our Kenyan Appeal.

February is a busy month at St Andrew's with a range of activities  includung the re-start of both Book Club and Community Coffee and the start of the Lent Activity.

We start with a review of recent events and look forward to 2018

Why not come to the Carol Service on Sunday 17 December at 3pm. Come early if you want a seat. Join us on Christmas morning at 9.30 for Christmas Communion.

There is no Service here on Sunday 31st December. A joint Holy Communion for the Parish will take place at St Michael's on that day.

The people at St Andrew's have made it their mission to reach out to others and this has particularly been evident in the monthly coffee mornings when any money raised is for one of three charities we focus on. These are: our projects in the Kenyan village of Wiyumiririe; ToiletTwinning which is important to us as we were fortunate to build a toilet here; and Volunteers for Mental Heath, a small charity that works with patients in a large psychiatric hospital in Romania.

All of us spend time, effort and money preparing ourselves for the unexpected. Christmas can be one of those ‘unexpecteds’ that all too often creeps up on us like a thief in the night. We know it’s coming but before you can say ‘Boxing Day’ it’s here and gone and the new year takes over
