New Year ~ New Challenges

We start with a review of recent events and look forward to 2018

The Coffee Mornings, Book Club and Lent Course have proved how good it is to make better use of the church. The building (or parts of it) are 1000 years old and that in itself can present challenges. But with a bijou kitchen and an attractive outdoor space as well as a toilet which includes facilities for those with disabilities and a baby changing area we are equipped to meet the needs of people wishing to use the place outside of the traditional services.

2017 saw an online fundraising campaign for our Kenyan project. This was in support of a pilgrimage of 110 km to Santiago de Compostela. It captured the hearts and imagination of donors who had never heard of Wiyumiririe or Stewton but recognised the campaign as being worthwhile. A huge thank you to all who donated as over £4000 was raised towards the building of a classroom in Wiyumiririe in Laikipia distrct. Together with locally raised funds and donations we have been able to provide a great start for this project.

Regular Coffee Mornings will start again for our three charities on the 4th Tuesday of each month beginning with Tuesday 27 February 10 - 12noon when any money raised will be for our link with Kenya.
